These twin towns, Ballina in County Tipperary and Killaloe in County Clare, sit at either side of the majestic Shannon at the foot of Loch Derg.

There is a tourist office overhead the public library which has the details of all the must see things to do in the area. It also houses an exhibition regarding Brian Boru who is the most famous son from the area.

We are celebrating the life of Brian Boru (c. 941-1014), High King of Ireland (1002-1014), who was born in, raised in and ruled Killaloe, County Clare, Ireland. There are numerous events planned for the millennium year of his death at the Battle of Clontarf on Good Friday, 1014, and hope that you will join us for this year long celebration!
